Start takes about 30 to 90 seconds when the saved snapshot is ready (about 8 minutes if it has to be rebuilt). Photos, fast guessing (MTP) and long chats all work in the same mode. It stops by itself after 15 minutes of no use, and hard-stops at 3 hours. An A100 costs about $2.50 per hour while on.
